It is usually located behind section 116, near the escalator from the McConnell Street Entrance, but may be relocated on a game-by-game basis at the Jackets' request.  Feel free to stop by at any game with your questions, comments or just to see what is going on with the Jacket Backers.

Community Power Play

$1760 YTD Raised in the 2017-2018 Season for The Blue Jackets Foundation #CommunityPowerPlay Goal!

$2620 Raised in the 2016-2017

 The Jacket Backers will again team up with the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation to present our 3rd ANNUAL COMMUNITY POWER PLAY!!   For each Power Play Goal scored by the Blue Jackets, the Jacket Backers will make a donation to the Blue Jackets Foundation – and we’d love it if you’d join us and match!  Use the donation button below to show your support and Celebrate Life and Hockey.

For the first PP Goal scored in each game, we will donate $20 to the Foundation, for the second PP Goal we will donate $40 more, for the third PP Goal we will donate $60 more and so on. If a PP goal turns out to be our game winner, we will add another $100 to the Foundation.  Help us celebrate the joy of scoring more power play goals!

Join us at our 1st Annual Jacket Backers Foundation Bowling Fundraiser!

Calling all Jacket Backers to help us raise funds for our charitable giving!  The Jacket Backers Foundation* is a 501 (c) (3) organization, the charitable arm of the Jacket Backers Booster Club.  We are pleased to announce our 1st Annual Bowling Fundraiser and we'd love to have your support - there are many ways you can help and participate!

We'll be bowling at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace on Sunday, July 31st from 1 - 4 pm.  ALL AGES are welcome to join in the fun!  Sign up either in teams of 5 at $125 or sign up as individuals for $25 and we'll happily match you up with a team.  Event includes 3 games and shoe rental if required.  (Participation fee includes donations of $57.50 per team or $11.50 per person above lane and shoe costs.)  Lane sponsorships are available for just $50, or event sponsorships are available, starting at only $200.

If you wish, collect pledges above and beyond your registration fee.  All participants raising $100 and above in pledged donations will receive a specially signed Jacket Backers puck, and will be entered to win a team-signed item yet to be determined.  Suggested ways to raise funds include a flat fee per person sponsoring you ($2 - $10?) or so much per estimated pin bowled (5 to 25 cents per pin?) or so much per strike ($1 - 10?) or, we'd just happily accept your additional contribution of your choice.  Creative reasons to pledge encouraged!  Pledged donations must be paid on or before date of event to qualify for pledge prizes.

Prizes will be awarded for 

  • BEST TEAM NAME (either pre-arranged or on-the-fly), as voted by attendees

Not a bowler?  We're also having a Hockey Memorabilia Mart where you can buy, donate, or consign items for sale, as we've done as a separate event in the past; a 50/50 raffle, and a goods and services raffle.  (SEEKING your donations and consignments!  See below for more details)  Or just come and watch all the fun.

Refreshments are not included but will be available for purchase.

To sign up as a bowler or team, please use the Paypal buttons below, and include your team name, names of bowler(s) and team captain in comments after you make your payment.  Or you can send us a check made payable to the Jacket Backers Foundation to:  Jacket Backers Foundation, P.O. Doors will open at 11am for set-up and drop-off. In case you don't remember our prior Hockey Marts, here's the scoop. Whether you're interested in Buying, Selling or Donating... Do you have a bunch of hockey "stuff" you're looking to part with? Is there something you've always wanted that someone else might have? Are you downsizing your "hockey cave" or ready to make room for new hockey collection items of your own? Just want to give us some of your old "stuff" as a fundraiser? Never fear - Hockey Memorabilia Mart is here! 

To SELL items:  you can either 1 - name your price and consign an item(s) and 25% will go to the JB Foundation or 2 - purchase an area of approximately 4' for $25 to better feature your own items! Table space is limited - to reserve your spot and/or make prior arrangements to consign or donate items, please contact Julie at foundation@jacketbackers.org!

To DONATE items: you can either make arrangements to drop them off ahead of time or arrive early on the day of the sale to hand them over!  (If clothing, clean, gently-used items please.)

To BUY items: you can either show up and buy items outright or participate in our silent auction where select items will be featured!
There's no cost to attend.

Jacket Backers merchandise will also be available for purchase.

Jerseys/Photos/Pucks/Cards/Giveaways... there's no telling what new-to-you treasures you might find!

*What is the Jacket Backers Foundation, you ask?...More about JB Foundation and why you should contribute and participate - yes, we're volunteers and our mission is to support hockey-related and community charities with a special emphasis on the CBJ Foundation and the causes they support, just like the JB always have. It gives us the ability to accept your donations of memorabilia and goods/services (and you can claim it on your taxes) and hopefully increase the amount of good works we can do, while we are all getting together being social and having fun talking about hockey! It is our goal that 100% of all direct donations to the JB Foundation be disbursed to the charities we support; for events our goal is to keep operational costs to a minimum so that we can donate as much as we can.  For more info, please contact Julie at foundation@jacketbackers.org
