Fly Away to Phoenix - March 2-4, 2012

For the first time, the Jacket Backers are offering a travel package that includes airfare!

This package is limited to the first 15 members to place their deposit.

Depart Columbus at 7:00 on the morning of Friday March 2, 2012 and arrive in sunny Phoenix at 9:30 am.  If you are a golfer, you would have time to get a round of golf in on Friday afternoon and a 2nd on Saturday.  (However, golfing is not included in this package).  Regardless of whether you are a golfer or not, you will have most of Friday and all day Saturday to take in the sites of Phoenix.

Saturday evening, your package includes a Lower Bowl ticket to watch the Blue Jackets take on the Coyotes in Jobing.com Arena.

Sunday afternoon, depart Phoenix and return back to Columbus at 10:20 in the evening with a bit of a tan and a head full of great memories.

Included airfare are nonstop flights to and from Columbus on Southwest Air.

We are currently working on the final details for hotel accommodations.

The final cost of this trip is yet to be determined until the hotel is
finalized.  We estimate that the cost of this package will be $800 or less.

Deposits of $300 are required by September 30 to hold the airfare.  Final payments are due by January 10, 2012.

Email our travel chair, Dan Conkey, at travel@jacketbackers.org, for additional information and to make payment arrangements to reserve your trip.

Credit cards are fine, right?

Yes, we can take credit cards at events and via paypal. We will be offering a cash discount of $25 on this trip due to the credit card handling fees.

Jobing.com is a great place to watch a CBJ game. Took a road trip there last season with the DH. Fans are kindred spirits, very welcoming. They LOVE their team, but aren't obnoxious and rude to visiting fans. Also, the area right outside the arena is AWESOME. Be sure to allow plenty of pregame time in the adjacent plaza. Lost of bars, restaurants and entertaiment.

Also, for those of you who happen to be MLB fans, that will also be right at the beginning of Cactus League games. The first week and change is the best time to catch Spring Training contests because the crowds haven't begun to show up from California and the Midwest.

How many are going? Is it too late to get in on this? I assume the price estimates are for double occupancy.
