Wow! What a week and a half. This season was seeming like a repeat of last year with the condensed schedule. However, I didn't realize it really was until Jarmo Kekalainen said so during the Hockey & Heels event Saturday, December 14th. He said it was due to the Olympics in February. I attended the event with several other ladies I've met through Jacket Backers, twitter, and game watching parties. I remember my 'date' was planning to leave early, but the game was so exciting she stayed through to the end including a quick overtime. There was no game on Sunday so I finally finished my recap of the Ottawa Jacket Backers trip <==Click to see all the fun we had. Monday there was another Blue Jacket home game. Wednesday, I attended the Jacket Backers Holiday Gathering at Yogi's-Tuttle. The fun included a CBJ/Hockey theme gift exchange where I stole an RJ Umberger signed stick from another member, a 'door prize' drawing, and our first ever rock paper scissors tournament. Don't knock it until you try it! It was a blast. Susan won the newest Homage Jacket Backers T-Shirt <== click to take a look. It's long sleeve too. Thursday was the away game party at BWW in Marion. I won a bottle of hot sauce and got teased the rest of the evening about what I was going to put it on. I don't eat wings. Saturday we drove to Findlay to pick up my mother. She and I participated in the Tunnel of Pride, where season ticket holders line up on each side of the walkway to cheer on our players just before they went out onto the ice. CBJ lost a 2-0 lead but ended with with a 6-3 victory against the Flyers, can't beat that! Then last night we carried mom wheelchair and all down to my basement bar to watch another exciting Blue Jacket win over the Carolina Hurricanes. We'll miss the Friday game watching party in Powell <== click for details. However, we'll be back for the home game on Sunday night. Also I plan to see you all at Studio 35 for the best New Years Eve Party ever, Jackets Style! Get your tickets now!
