Stop by the Jacket Backers Table at Every Home Game!

It is usually located behind section 116, near the escalator from the McConnell Street Entrance, but may be relocated on a game-by-game basis at the Jackets' request.  Feel free to stop by at any game with your questions, comments or just to see what is going on with the Jacket Backers.

Community Power Play

$1505 Raised in the 2015-2016 Season for The Blue Jackets Foundation #CommunityPowerPlay Goal!

 The Jacket Backers will again team up with the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation to present our 3rd ANNUAL COMMUNITY POWER PLAY!!   For each Power Play Goal scored by the Blue Jackets, the Jacket Backers will make a donation to the Blue Jackets Foundation – and we’d love it if you’d join us and match!  Use the donation button below to show your support and Celebrate Life and Hockey.

For the first PP Goal scored in each game, we will donate $20 to the Foundation, for the second PP Goal we will donate $40 more, for the third PP Goal we will donate $60 more and so on. If a PP goal turns out to be our game winner, we will add another $100 to the Foundation.  Help us celebrate the joy of scoring more power play goals!

Join us at Blue Jackets Night with the Clippers! - SOLD OUT


It may be the off-season for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Jacket Backers, but why not spend a summer evening with the Jacket Backers at a Columbus Clippers game for Blue Jackets Night with the Clippers, Thursday, July 31st.  As part of the festivities, Brandon Dubinsky is scheduled to throw out the Opening Pitch.

In addition, it is Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark.  Take advantage of these drink specials all game long: 32 oz. Domestic Draft Beer - $9.50, 32 oz. Premium Draft Beer - $10.50, 32 oz. Soft Drink - $4.50

The Jacket Backers will have a block of limited amount of tickets in the one of the Reserved seating areas, Sections 21-25. Tickets will be $5.00 each (adult, child and/or senior).

Volunteers needed for Red White & BOOM Beverage Stands on Nationwide Plaza

The Three-Legged Mare is once again a sponsor of this year's Red, White & BOOM! on July 3rd and they have invited the Jacket Backers to man some of their beverage stands to help us spread the word about our club and raise tips for a fundraiser!  We are looking for volunteers of all ages, you don't have to be 21 or over!!!

They will be running all of the beverage stands on Nationwide Plaza and the street will be blocked off and a stage nearby. Click here for a map and stage schedules. We will be allowed to help promote the club as well as sell memberships, etc. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible. It sounds like a great time and great way to meet a lot of new faces.

We'll need people from around 2 pm - midnight and you would be helping in shifts, minimum of 3 hours, but feel free to stay as long as you would like.

Everyone who volunteers for at least 3 hours will receive a $25.00 gift card to the Three-Legged Mare; we will also have a limited number of wristbands to share giving us access to the sponsors' hospitality tent (which includes foods & drink)!

The Three-Legged Mare or Jacket Backers may provide free tee shirts. Please respond ASAP if you can help out to Jessica at activities@jacketbackers.org and let her know what hours you would be available to help! The more help we can get, the more funds we can raise!

JB now accepting Committee Volunteers and Officer Nominations!

Join us at our next planning meeting, our Offseason Get Together and Officer Elections to be held on Wednesday, June 18th, 6:30 pm at Winking Lizard Tavern - Crosswoods.  (See left sidebar for more info on location - we are in a private meeting room so YES, if there is a Game 7, we can watch together, game starts at 8 pm!)

We've recovered from last season's end and are ready to take care of offseason planning!  We miss you all... it would be great if you'd come and talk hockey and join us as we begin to plan for our next successful season.

Jacket Backers Summer Blood Drive - Saturday, June 14th!

The Jacket Backers are sponsoring a Blood Drive at Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, June 14th!

Join us at 2435 Eakin Road, Columbus, OH 43204 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm in the Gymnasium!

Click here to make an appointment or call 1-800 RED CROSS to select your preferred donation time.  Walk-in donors are also welcome.  Donors are especially needed for the 10:30 - 11:30 am time slots. 

The American Red Cross and the Jacket Backers Thank You in advance for giving the gift of life this summer.  Help up to three central Ohio families while qualifying to win CBJ memorabilia provided by the Jacket Backers.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community.  Nationwide, someone needs a pint of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

If you'd like to volunteer for the registration table, please contact Keith at community_service@jacketbackers.org .  If you are planning on attending and would like to bring a snack to share at the refreshments table, you are welcome to do so.
