Cannonfest 2011 - WOW!
Monday, August 15, 2011 at 3:37PMYou would think that if you show up for an event an hour and a half early, you would have time to enjoy a few wings before the crowd shows up. I thought that, and I was plain wrong. When we arrived at Cannonfest at 12:30 for a 2:00 seat there were already fans staking out prime seats. That's when I should have realized, this is gonna be big.
The blogosphere is cranking out thank you's all over the place, but it still doesn't do it justice. Wow what a turnout and what participation. A restaurant full of passionate Blue Jackets Fans turned a neon sign, an autographed jersey, an autographed puck holder, 4 Hockey Hall of Fame tickets and some other assorted goodies into $971 for Hockey Beats Down in a little over 2 hours. Simply Incredible and Fun!
The Jacket Backers will be proud to represent ourselves, the Arch City Army, Reclaim our Barn and all of the bloggers (see this post) that made Cannonfest an awesome success as we round off the proceeds and present a check to Hockey Beats Down for an even $1,000. What a day. The wings tasted great at about 6:00.
