Travel Update

Pittsburgh - February 6

 

 

Buffalo - We have a block of 26 tickets purchased in Section 323.  Tickets are $66 for members and $86 for non members.  So far 10 of the tickets have sold and all of those 10 are planing to continue to Syracuse on Saturday to see the Syracuse Crunch battle the Chicago Wolves.  Let us know if you want to journey on to Syracuse so that we can get the proper number of tickets there. 

Pittsburgh - We have a block of 40 tickets purchased in Section B31.  Tickets are $120 for members and $140 for non-members.  Tickets in Pittsburgh are a rare find, with pairs unavailable from the ticket office.  We have 30 people committed and 10 tickets remaining (yes we have had a few people drop out and a few others buy).  We have not yet worked on any lodging arrangements for Pittsburgh.

Travel Update - Buffalo and Pittsburgh

We have tickets in hand for Buffalo and a few Pittsburgh tickets left!
 
We have decided to make the Buffalo trip a "tickets-only"
trip.  We have purchased 26 tickets in section 323, Rows 6, 7, 8 
 
Buffalo Tickets are $66.00 for members and $86.00 for non-members.
Pittsburgh Tickets are in Section B31 - $120 for members and $140 for non-members.
Tickets will be sold in the order payment is received.
 
The sooner we sell these seats, the faster we can plan our next travel opportunity!  We can't wait to follow our Jackets on the road. To purchase your seats, bring your check to the Jacket Backers table behind section 115, or request a PayPal invoice from Brian Maurer at treasurer@jacketbackers.org.

Game Watching Party

When: Monday, November 3, 2008

Where: Winking Lizard Crosswoods (100 Hutchinson Ave., Columbus, OH)

Time: 6:30pm - Pre-Game

          7:00pm - Drop of the Puck

Add'l Info: The cost of the event will be $8.00 per person.  Price will include Wings, Potato Skins, Chicken Fingers and Breaded Ravioli.  In addition, Winking Lizard will offer a full dinner menu and bar menu.

Join the club or renew your membership before October 31, 2008 to be entered in this exclusive members only drawing.

That's right anyone that has paid for their 2008 - 2009 membership will be entered into a free drawing to win a Columbus Blue Jackets  Team Signed Stick.  The stick was signed by the 2007 - 2008 team and the drawing will be held at our game watching event at the Winking Lizard on November 3rd.  You do not need to be present to win, but why would you want to miss out on the fun?

Very short notice, but if anyone is interested in travelling to Nashville this weekend, we just received this information today.  Nashville is offering discounted tickets for this Saturday's game.  The Jacket Backers are not organizing a group trip of any kind but just passing this info along in case anyone is interested.

On a Clear Night in Clintonville, the Stars go Dim!

Approximately 30 Blue Jackets fans gathered to watch a thrilling season opener as Rick Nash roofed the game winner in overtime.  The pot luck feast was a satisfying beginning to a great night. The menu featured mac and cheese, cherry pie, macadamia white chocolate chip cookies, cocktail weenies, spaghetti salad, grilled turkey, cheese, salami and crispy hot dogs to name a few.  The picture on the big screen was as clear as the sky.

Risto Petman looked as happy as Rusty Klesla after Rick’s winner when his number was called as the winner of the team signed jersey.  What a fantastic event to begin the season.  Thank you to everyone that attended and contributed to the fun.  Hopefully, this is the beginning of a season of great events that even more will enjoy!!

Join us to watch the season opener on the big screen and enjoy a small feast.  Our club president, Julie Maurer, has invited the club to enjoy the game on a large (6' x 8') outdoor screen (dress appropriately) at her house.  Bring a covered dish if you can, but most importantly come help cheer the Jackets to victory.  Beverages and some food will be provided; we are planning on grilling a whole turkey for sandwiches, and some hot dogs. 

 

We will have door prizes and a raffle including a TEAM SIGNED JERSEY.  A RSVP to Jessica Jones (activities@jacketbackers.org) would be appreciated but is not necessary.

Jacket Backers Visit Upstate New York for NHL/AHL Adventure!

We need your help to make the headline above come to life. We have 14 members interested in the projected bus trip to Buffalo and Syracuse. We need 20-25 travelers to make this trip work. The Jacket Backers finished last season with a great bus trip to St. Louis. There has been nothing but great memories from that trip. So let's get rolling on another spectacular weekend with our first ever Jacket Backer trip to upstate New York.
